Celestion®100 212 Open

TRY IT

The Celestion® 100 212 Open is an official Celestion® DynIR captured from a pair of Celestion® 100 drivers retrofitted in an open-backed 2×12 enclosure.

Meticulously hand-crafted in the UK, the new-for-2024 Celestion® 100 celebrates Celestion®’s 100-year anniversary and the world’s first purpose-built guitar loudspeaker which – in various guises – has voiced some of the most legendary and memorable licks of all time. Referencing Celestion®’s collection of early alnico speakers, the Celestion® 100 is born of a painstaking research and development process, analysing, understanding and then replicating the very essence of these exquisite collector’s items.

On the all-important tone-front, expect a blooming low-end and bell-like highs, all underpinned with a sweet, shimmering midrange presence. When driven into distortion, brace yourself for a gradual, musical compression, softening the note-attack as you’d expect from a stellar Celestion® alnico driver.

When you’re in the market for wide sonic dispersion, and plenty of low-end thump balanced with sublime clarity and articulation, a 2×12 is an undisputed must-have. With the Celestion® 100 212 Open’s rock-solid build, stellar resonance and open-back specification, expect an organic sound that pushes the natural character of both your guitar and the companion Celestion® 100 speaker to perfection.

Part of the “Celestion® Presets: The Celestion® 100” DynIR cabinet collection, the Celestion® 100 212 Open has been expertly-captured at Decoy Studios using stellar recording peripherals and a mic collection that affords seamless adaptability from the studio to the stage.
