The Jensen® Gemini 212 P12N Open is an official DynIR from Jensen Loudspeakers®, captured from a custom built open-back cabinet inspired by a vintage 2×12 Fender® Twin Tweed enclosure, outfitted with a pair of P12N drivers.
When it comes to bonafide vintage guitar Sonics, Jensen Loudspeakers® exist in a class of their own. Not only were they the certified must-have for Leo Fender’s first foray into Guitar Amplifiers, Jensen® cemented their heritage throughout the 1940s, -50s and -60s as the go-to for the period’s most legendary amps (including Fender®, Ampeg® and Gibson® no less). Fast forward to today and Jensen® exist as a steadfast pillar for traditional and contemporary guitar sonics alike – whether it’s classic vintage tone brimming with vibey mojo, or modern state-of-the-art design engineered to influence generation after generation, Jensen® continue their mission of pioneering drivers to inspire their customer’s creativity with sublime tone and night-after-night reliability.
Any tone-connoisseur will tell you, when you’re seeking musical dynamic compression and the pinnacle in top-end shimmer, only a driver fitted with an AlNiCo magnet will do! With every capture included in the “Jensen® Presets: The 50’s” collection, Jensen® delivers the archetypal AlNiCo-powered drivers in their roster, primed for authentic “tweed” style tones and set to elevate your sonics with all the tonal-prowess of their heritage range.
There’s no denying it, the legendary P12N is one of the most iconic Jensen® speakers of the late ‘50s. Immediately identifiable thanks to its oversized bell magnet cover, the P12N fuses a high power rating coupled with crystal clear highs, transparent mids and a powerful – but tight – bass response. It’s no wonder it’s the go to for sparkling-clean aficionados, commonly dubbing this pillar in the Jensen® line, the “King of Clean Tones”. Retrofit a pair of these into a custom-built cabinet inspired by a vintage 2×12 Fender® Twin Tweed enclosure, and the match is set for the pinnacle in vintage sonics. Pushing an extended dispersion with the all-important clarity you demand, this is a must have for players seeking a primo shimmering clean or a raunchy drive brimming with lashings of vibey mojo!
Available individually or as part of the “Jensen® Presets: The 50’s” DynIR Cabinet Collection, the Jensen® Gemini 212 P12N Open has been exquisitely captured using studio-grade mics and recording peripherals to deliver the perfect blend of primo tone and seamless adaptation from the studio to the stage.
