The Jensen® LumaExt 112 Tornado 100 is an official DynIR from Jensen Loudspeakers®, captured from a custom built front-ported cabinet inspired by a 1×12 Mesa Boogie® Thiele Extension enclosure, outfitted with a Tornado 100 driver.
When it comes to contemporary guitar sonics, Jensen Loudspeakers® exist in a class of their own. Not only were they the certified must-have for Leo Fender’s first foray into Guitar Amplifiers, Jensen® cemented their heritage throughout the 1940s, -50s and -60s as the go-to for the period’s most legendary amps (including Fender®, Ampeg® and Gibson® no less). Fast forward to today and Jensen® exist as a steadfast pillar for traditional and contemporary guitar sonics alike – whether it’s classic vintage tone brimming with vibey mojo, or modern state-of-the-art design engineered to influence generation after generation, Jensen® continue their mission of pioneering drivers to inspire their customer’s creativity with sublime tone and night-after-night reliability.
Voiced similarly to an AlNiCo driver, the ever-popular Tornado 100 is the first Jensen® Jet-Series speaker loaded with the 2nd Generation Neodymium magnet design – a design so popular it has since been extended to the Tornado Stealth line. Expect an evenly-balanced response typified by clear, smooth, and well-defined sonics, all underpinned by a solid, powerful bass range. Add to this an extended dynamic range and you’re primed with an eminently versatile driver capable of delivering anything from subdued clean to a full-throttle balls-to-the-wall lead tone. Fit this in a custom-built front-ported cabinet inspired by a Mesa Boogie® Thiele Extension enclosure and you’re set with exceptionally tuned cabinet resonance, a tight dispersion and the ultimate platform that delivers the pure unadulterated sonics of the companion driver.
Available individually or as part of the “Jensen®’s Tornado Series” DynIR Cabinet Collection, the Jensen® LumaExt 112 Tornado 100 has been exquisitely captured using studio-grade mics and recording peripherals to deliver the perfect blend of primo tone and seamless adaptation from the studio to the stage.
